Beverly Education Foundation, Inc. (BEF)

Scott Houseman is an active board member of Beverly Education Foundation. The quality of our children’s education is directly affected by school budgets. More money isn’t the answer to all challenges facing our schools. But, the Beverly Education Foundation works to both address budget gaps and stimulate innovation and excellence by supporting educational programs that are outside normal public funding.

Like the volunteers for Beverly’s great Parent Teacher Organizations, BEF members are deeply dedicated to the school children of our city. BEF is a non-profit organization whose board meets regularly with PTO parents, teachers, and school administrators to further its mission with a public/private partnership.

BEF awards:

Some examples of grants it has provided are for the "Literacy for Struggling Readers" elementary school program, and the “Partnership at the Peabody Essex Museum", for the Beverly High School arts department.
